6 Tips To Finding Balance as a Homemaker

KNOW YOUR PRIORITIES

First and foremost, you are a wife and mother. Be sure your husband and children are cared before tackling everything else.

BE FLEXIBLE

Don’t feel disgusted when your to-do list doesn’t get finished. Sometimes it is better for it to sit unfinished than your family neglected because of what is on that list. It’s best to learn to just let some things go.

ACCEPT HELP

Asking for help is hard because you feel like others will think less of you for being in the position to ask. In reality, everyone needs help every once in a while. If help is offered without you asking, accept it. Don’t be afraid to accept any help when needed.

OUTSOURCE CHORES AND OTHER JOBS

Allow your children to do things; they need to learn how to do for themselves. You are not always going to be around for them when they need something, teach them how to do things they are capable of doing. If they are old enough to do their own laundry – have them do it. They need to be cleaning up their own messes;  you, my friend, are not a maid.

CONSIDER  YOURSELF

We all need a moment of rest and relaxation. I’m not talking about selfish ME TIME. I’m talking about moments of refocusing, moments of doing something enjoyable for yourself. It's easier to face a task when you are refreshed.

LEARN TO SAY NO

You don’t have to say yes to every opportunity to volunteer or get together for special events. Learning to say no will be a lifesaver on those days when it all seems to be crumbling out from underneath your feet.

Are there any others you would add to this list? I’d love to hear them.
