I’m a little disappointed with myself. This morning during my devotions, I realized that I had not kept up my Thankful Thursday posts. We have so much to be Thankful for, I don’t know why we would not want to share with others our Thankfulness. I’m hoping I’ll be better at this, for the new year.
I was reading in Ephesians chapter three this morning when verse twenty really stood out to me this morning. It is a verse that I’ve read and heard many times before. But this morning something just hit me out of the blue. When God created us, He could have just given us the minimum of what we needed to survive, but He did not. He gave us an elaborate system that controls everything that goes on inside our bodies. Many of the things our bodies do, we don’t have control over. We don’t have to tell our heart to pump. We don’t have to tell our liver or kidneys to do their job. These organs do their job, because God created them to do so.If our God can create a sophisticated system like our bodies, it’s not hard to know that He is going to do more for us when we ask Him to.
Knowing all the great things that God has done and will do, why would I not want to be close to Him? Why would you not? Why would we not want to reap the blessings that He has for us? I want to be close to Him, I want to be there when He is ready to give me a blessing. I want to know, when I ask of Him something that I may think impossible, He is going to do it and do more than I expect.
