Wait Upon the Lord - 7 Days of Scripture Writing

Waiting, it’s hard for anyone to do. It becomes even harder if there are expectations intertwined in the situation. As Christians, when we learn to wait, we grow. Life is about growing. There are many situations where we have to wait and each time, we calmly wait, we’re nourishing our little seed of faith. How do we wait? The Bible gives the answer, we simply wait upon the Lord.

Learning to wait can be hard. Our blessings will abound when we learn to wait upon the Lord. 7 Days of Scripture Writing included.

Wait Upon the Lord

Sometimes waiting is easier said than done. We all could tell stories about situations while waiting on the Lord. Some stories of waiting are exciting while others bring sadness. But the Lord is the one who helped us through those times.

What does it mean to wait upon the Lord?

It means we put our hope and trust in the Lord. We are confident He will answer our prayers and His promises will not fail us. It means we will do nothing foolish – we’re allowing the Lord to lead. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

This kind of waiting takes faith, patience, humility, and endurance. Putting our faith in the Lord and trusting Him is the first step in waiting upon the Lord. Patience is a virtue we all need. Times of waiting helps strengthen our patience. We have to stay humble during the waiting; we can’t allow ourselves to be the center, but rather the Lord. We can’t become weak, we have to stand firm on our confidence in the Lord. (Hebrews 10:35) We have to endure until the end when the waiting is over.
