Easy Peach Jelly Recipe

Peach season will be on us before you know it. What should you plan to make with peaches? Peach Jelly, of course!

I’m a peach junkie. Peaches are my favorite fruit. But not just any peach will do, only Georgia peaches. I’ve eaten peaches from around the country and none can truly compare to a sweet Georgia peach. Yes, I'm what some would call bias. But once you've tried a Georgia peach, you'll understand. Making homemade peach jelly is easy, and you'll be glad you did.

Easy Pickled Squash Recipe

Several years ago, my sister gave me her recipe for Pickled Squash with a jar full of the sweet tangy goodness. She found the recipe in an older Amish cookbook she bought. Never underestimate an older church or community cookbook; they hold a treasure trove.

Wild Violet Jelly

Many consider violets to be weeds. Weeds are unwanted plants. But for me, they are a lovely wanted flower for the bees and butterflies while being used in jelly and healthy concoctions. Wild Violet Jelly is an easy way to bring the outdoors inside.

Sweet and Tangy Cucumber Jelly

I know you are probably scratching your head at the thought of making jelly from cucumbers. Just keep reading because I thought the same thing. My sister first introduced me to cucumber jelly many years ago. She had a bumper crop of cucumbers and had made all the pickles and relish she could stand. When she found this recipe, she knew she had to make it because cucumber jelly is a delicacy.

Easy Homemade Muscadine Syrup

Last fall, we visited the state farmer’s market at the perfect time. It was Muscadine season and they were at the top of our list of items to buy. We love eating them but we enjoy them more throughout the year as jelly. While making the jelly, I knew I wanted to do something just a little different with some of the juice. While looking through my mom’s older edition Ball Bluebook, I came across blueberry syrup so I knew I wanted to make muscadine syrup with them.

Easy Crock-Pot Apple Butter

My first canning project for the season was apple butter. Before we moved, my Momma called and told me her trees were full of apples and asked if I wanted some when we got back to Georgia. I was so excited about having apples I knew were not full of pesticides for cake, jelly, and apple butter. I was amazed at the huge bag of apples in the bottom of her spare refrigerator;  all I could think about was making Apple Butter.

Easy Homemade Muscadine Jelly

Here in the south, we have several native fruits, but Muscadines are my family’s favorite. These are wild grapes and they can be found growing along the side of the road and in wooded areas.

Easy Homemade Apple Sauce

When I taught school, I made applesauce with some of my classes. I had each student bring in 1 apple. When the students were doing there morning routines, I would dice the apples up and place them in my crock pot. Throughout the day as I would open the lid and stir, the smell of cooking apples with cinnamon and sugar filled the room and half way down the hall. I had many visitors popping in to see where the smell was coming from. A neat memory for me!
